Last day of school for 2012 / 2013 School Year
The last day of school for this school year will be Tuesday, May 21. It will be a half day. Elementary schools will dismiss at 11:15 am. The JHS 9-10 Campus will dismiss at 11:45 am. Middle Schools and the JHS 11-12 Campus will dismiss at noon.Information on redistricting and new attendance zones
On March 26, 2013, the Joplin Schools Board of Education approved the redistricting plan developed by a redistricting committee made up of parents, school principals, and school administrators. The plan will go into effect for the 2013 / 2014 school year and will change some school attendance zones to address population shifts due to the May 22, 2011 disaster and the construction of two new elementary schools to replace four elementary schools. The number of students supported by this program nearly doubled after the May 2011 tornado. Joplin Schools Foundation is trying to raise $25,000 to help fill the gap in funding.
